Founded under the name of El-Mohandes in 1983 by Dr. Mohamed Khamis, Eng. Aly Khamis and Eng. Tarek Abdu. With its permanent headquarters in Cairo, AMI (Al-Mohandas International Co.) quickly gained a reputation as a forward-thinking and reliable engineering contractor. The company was built on highly skilled individuals that instilled a culture of problem solving and determination from the onset.
1994, an ambitious investment was made by AMI to achieve market leader status within the Diesel Generator segment. A meticulously planned and purpose built factory was constructed with the intricacies of generator assembly in mind. This goal was fulfilled in 2 years with an initial production capacity totaling 500 sets per year and reaching an upper limit of 800 KVA power.
By 1998, AMI successfully a multitude of complex projects for a client list spanning several key industries. With its reputation rapidly growing, AMI was accredited with the ISO 9001 Quality Certificate. This alone could have been read as an indicator of success, it would eventually double as a sign that AMI needed to continue to grow in order to fully realize its potential in a market that saw increased demand and larger, more powerful sets.
